Meeting Marcy Anarchy
Posted on September 29th, 2010 at 10:26 AM by admin

Although I’ve been into lycra costumes for many years now, it wasn’t until recently that I became particularly interested in zentai. As a relative newcomer to zentai, and certainly to this forum, I want to share the story of an experience that I feel privileged to have had and that many of you, having contributed far more to the zentai community than myself would be more deserved of.
I joined forum fully aware that the person responsible for the spread, and some say the creation of zentai as a fetish/art, is a regular poster. He currently posts his wonderful images regularly to his blog “Tight Fit Life” and goes by the name Marcy Anarchy. Having been an admirer of his images for a few years I thought I would send him a message to compliment his work and ask about where he gets the amazing superman Halloween costume he uses in his photos. Because I live in Japan and know a fair bit of Japanese I decided to write to him in his native language.
To my surprise, Marcy responded very positively to the message I sent and straight away suggested we meet up, since he lives in Nara and I live in Kyoto; Cities just an hour train ride apart. This invitation was something that I initially thought very strange, but I really wanted to meet him, learn more about zentai and of course, see his Green Lantern Halloween costume collection! We exchanged messages and set up a date to meet.
After a train journey which lasted significantly longer than the one hour I planned for, thanks to me stupidly jumping off the right train at the wrong station I eventually arrived at the correct location where Marcy was waiting for me.
I was expecting to find someone quite obviously eccentric, but instead I met a man who looked remarkably normal other than his above average height, which at well clear of 6ft is a lot taller than most Japanese. A friendly, respectable looking gentleman in his early 50s, Marcy is not the sort of person you would immediately expect to be so active in the fetish community. Although he does a lot of photography as a hobby and has published a book containing a handful of his photos, he is a doctor by profession. In fact, later in the day, as he was showing me some of his photos he took a call from one of his patients who was worried that s/he had caught influenza. Of course, Marcy keeps his real identity and lycra spandex spiderman costume identity separate like most of us do, and most likely for the same reasons. Apparently his wife knows both sides of him, but not his children.
Before taking me to his office to see his photos and talk about zentai, Marcy took me to a small sushi shop near the station, where we ate and chatted, but barely touched upon the subject of zentai at all. After eating we started to walk towards his office, which is where he keeps his suits, photos and cameras. On the way I asked a question that has been bugging me for a while, why are there so many male zentai fetishists and so few females.

Finally I met it

Marcy’s opinion on this is that women tend not to be so much into the visual aspect of sex as men (look at who 90% of the porn on the net is caters to), so do not search for lycra suits or other fetishes so much, but are sometimes introduced to it through their boyfriends. However, women who put on zentai soon come to realize that the feel of spiderman Halloween costumes on the body is quite sexual and pleasurable, and that those who do not want to put it on usually avoid doing so because the loss of identity associated with the mask makes them feel that anyone could be in the suit and their boyfriend wouldn’t care. Marcy later told me that it is important to make sure that the woman you want to share your zentai fetish with feels that only she can satisfy you in the zentai suit.

After a short walk, we reached his office, and on first inspection it was a completely normal looking office. However, hanging on the wall was one of Marcy’s Catwoman costume photographs, it’s the last image in the post) so I knew I was in the right place. The first thing Marcy did was to give me a copy of his book of zentai photography, which contains a description of how Marcy first became attracted to closed suits and eventually started to seek out other people with the same fetish by using the internet. Marcy was originally entranced by black zentai clad bad guys that made an appearance in a tv show he watched as a kid, though it wasn’t until a subsequent episode featured them talking, faces expressionless and emotionless, that he discovered that there was a sexual element to this for him. He told me it took a long time from seeing that show to actually getting a suit and forming an online community around it. Marcy has since bought a DVD box set of the show and showed me key clips whilst explaining how it ignited his passion for Batgirl costume.
Marcy was also kind enough to show me some of his recent photos, many of which he had made large prints of, and it must be said that printed with a good quality process at a large size they are beautiful. Amusingly, Marcy prints a stamp on the back of his prints, with his zentai name translated to kanji in a similar style to that used on old Japanese woodblock prints. I’ll leave further interpretation up to the imagination of the reader. I actually received several of these photos as a gift, though I’ve not yet put them on my wall since I have family visitors staying and I’d rather they didn’t see.

Of course, I wanted to hear about Marcy’s opinion on how to get a woman receptive to the idea of wearing spandex costumes, and of course, he has plenty of experience there. Although he was adamant there is no sure way to get someone into a zentai suit because everyone is different, he stressed that making a connection and being very open and honest from the start is extremely important in earning trust, so that she will become naturally curious about batman costume and not think you are just a weirdo with an odd fetish. Because zentai covers the face, it is of utmost importance to make sure that the woman you want to dress up thinks that it is her you want and not just a body to fill the suit up. Again, hearing the opinion of you zentai loving ladies on this matter would be great! Marcy also said that if zentai is really important to you and you cannot live without it, just drop any woman that cannot deal with it and look for one that can.
Finally, I asked what Marcy would like Flash costume to become in the future and what he would like to see made possible by technical innovations. His answer was simple; he wants an entry for zentai in Webster’s English dictionary and a super stretchy suit that can be entered without the need for zippers.
At the end of the day, I caught the train home with a large bag full of photos and a copy of Marcy’s book “Zentai” and a smile on my face for I had a really enjoyable and enlightening day. Marcy is a really cool guy and despite our 25 year age gap, we had plenty to talk about. Hopefully we’ll get to meet again sometime, and I desperately want to go to a zentai party, though I need to find a lady to go with first…
I’ll just add, before everyone starts contacting Marcy about buying joker costume via him, that the guy who makes them, Mr Artsong, does so for Marcy as a sort of hobby and doesn’t have the time or means to make a lot of suits. Also, he apparently had some trouble with customers before who expected the suit he made to be *perfect* because of the high price, but actually it’s basically impossible to make a suit that fits perfectly first time because of the stretch of the material, which is different for each fabric, so can sometimes take two more attempts to get the fit just right. Because of this, he doesn’t really take orders from anyone he doesn’t know directly.

I am a female zentaist, although I haven’t been for very long… however, I felt I could contribute my experience and opinion for you. My BF (Aussie Andy) introduced me to zentai spandex right at the start of our relationship. I have told this story previously, so I won’t re-tell it now. What Marcy told you about the feel of blue spiderman costume, is true for me? Some lycra items are a lil rough, whereas others are soft and silky. Soft and silky is so sexy. I enjoy the feel of zentai on my body, but I do also like the anonymity it gives me… it brings out a very different side of me, a more confident side.
I also agree with Marcy saying it is important to make a woman feel like she is what is desired, what satisfies you in zentai. Personally, I want to know that it is me Aussie Andy desires, not just my body to fill spiderman costumes. So I appreciate ‘playing’ out of zentai too. I need to know that it is my body, mind and soul he loves and craves… not just the shape/ silhouette the suit creates. Marcy is right, there is not sure fire way to get a partner interested in zentai. Everyone is different, and as with all fetishes, there are those that love it and those that cringe away…
But, as Aussie Andy did with me, I believe that like Marcy said it is important to make a connection with some one and then be open and honest right from the start. If a woman is really keen on you, or really loves you… then zentai will be something she can accept, regardless of whether she chooses to wear suits or not. I love Aussie Andy for the man he is, zentai is a part of who he is. He told me very early on and eased me into participating and now I love it!
