The world record for the fastest marathon completed lycra spandex zentai is held by British athlete Ian Sharman, who was dressed as Spiderman.

Superman, Batman, Robin, Spiderman, Hulk, The Flash, the Silver Surfer, Thor, Green Lantern, Captain America and even Wonder Woman will compete in the marathon this weekend in a bid to break a Guinness World Record and raise money for the Life Education Trust.

Superman, who by day is Christchurch athlete Paul Coughlan, hopes to break the record of two hours 49 minutes with his league of superheroes.

There is only one problem. The cape may hold him back.

“We made an agreement that we would all be different superheroes.

“I jumped in first and got Superman because I wanted a red zentai suit without a mask or a hood.

“The cape will not do me any favours though,” he said.

Pearce disrupted the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup race at Sha Tin Racecourse last December, dressed in a horse blue lycra suit emblazoned with the words: Demand Democracy Now.” He pleaded not guilty to that charge in July.

Pearce was charged with causing a public nuisance. The case came before the courts last Friday and was transferred to Sha Tin Court, because it was similar to a previous disorderly conduct case in Sha Tin that involved Pearce.

This time, however, the magistrate in Sha Tin rejected the transferred case and sent it back to Eastern Court.

Pearce’s lawyer, Michael Vidler, said transferring the case was a total waste of public money.” The government is wasting more taxpayers’ money and shooting themselves in the foot!” he said.

The government’s insistence on pursuing the recent Spiderman” case was a waste of public money because of the way it was transferred around the territory, the protester’s lawyer said. On June 3, Matt Pearce, founder of the political concern group International Action, dressed in a Spandex zentai, climbed up a giant TV screen in Central and unfurled a banner which read: Tiananmen Square 4.6.1989 Justice Must Prevail.”

Pearce added that the charge against him seemed to be a persecution more than a prosecution.” He believes he was prosecuted because of his actions in fighting for justice” for the June 4 incident at Tiananmen Square.

Although she enjoyed playing out the part for ITV’s Trial and Retribution VIII, she admitted that being pregnant didn’t help with the sexy cheap zentai she had to wear.
Victoria’s character, lycra zentai, DCI Roisin Connor, has to don a tight rubber spider costume – complete with high heels, plunging neckline and whip – to go undercover at a sado-masochistic sex club in a bid to solve two murders.
The sexy 31 year-old said: &quote, white zentai suit; Of course there were times when I felt uncomfortable. But generally speaking it was great fun and strangely liberating.
“I suddenly became a lot more forthright. I’d snap ‘no, yes, no, yes’ when shown cheap red lycra suit!”
But Victoria, now seven months pregnant, said she had to keep going for refits after filming the series during the early months of pregnancy.
“I had to go back to the House of Harlot to ask for refits,” she recalled.
“There was a particular need to keep carrying out readjustments to the top half of the outfit as I grew bigger and bigger.
“I was absolutely delighted to fall pregnant but here was an occasion when I wanted to be as slim and as fit as a butcher’s dog and instead I was getting grumpy if I didn’t eatevery three to four hours.
“No wonder my costume needed re-fitting,” said Victoria, who is a member of one of Ireland’s wealthiest families.
The Smurfits – her dad Dermot and uncles Michael and Alan – have made a fortune out of the packaging business.
Victoria, who lives in Dublin with advertising and marketing company boss husband Doug Baxter, said Doug found it no surprise that she was cast to play a dominatrix-type.
“He told me: ‘that’ll suit you perfectly!’ she said.
The Irish actress, who hit the big time after starring in Ballykissangel, met her husband after agreeing to present a 1998 newspaper awards ceremony.
They married in 2000 in a lavish ceremony in Surrey followed by a honeymoon on the French Polynesian Island Bora Bora.
As well as Ballykissangel where she played Orla, she’s also had parts in Cold Feet.
But she got her big screen break in 2000 when cast as Weathergirl alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Carlyle in The Beach.
Two years later she appeared as Suzie, a love interest of Hugh Grant’s character in the hit film About a Boy and the main character in Lynda La Plante’s Trial and Retribution.
l Trial and Retribution VIII is on ITV1 on Monday October 11 and Tuesday October 12 at 9pm.

Lycra costumes look is travolting for ’scared’ Shaun, take a butchers at East Enders legend ‘Fat’ Barry Evans with his TRAVOLTING new look.
Gone are the naff sheepskin coats he favored on his dodgy car lot on Albert Square.
Income skin-tight sequined yellow lycra suit that would even make Celebrity Big Brother grump George Galloway blush.
Actor Shaun Williamson, who played Barry in the BBC soap for nine years, is Scotland-bound in a stage version of the musical Saturday Night Fever.
He admits fans might be shocked by his bizarre new clobber…even though he lost TWO
STONE for the part. As well as the spider costume he has to squeeze into a pair of bum-hugging leather disco shorts as flamboyant nightclub DJ, Monti Rock III.
But Shaun, 40, reckons it could have been worse. They could have given him the role of swaggering Tony Manero that John Travolta made famous in the smash 1977 movie.
He said: “I would have loved to have been John Travolta in the show – but they couldn’t find a white suit big enough.
“You are going to see me prancing around in gear that they just won’t believe.
“Unfortunately, zentai suit, I also dance like a brick so I’ll probably put smiles on a few faces.
“But at least I’m a decent singer. My only worry is that I’ll end up as a gay icon.”
Scheming
He added: “When I first saw the turquoise white lycra suit and the leopard skin outfit, my eyes began to water.
“And then I was shoveled into leather mini-shorts. I was so mortified I lost two stone just to fit into the cheap zentai.”
The last time Shaun was in Scotland his East Enders car dealer character Barry was shoved off a mountain and murdered by his scheming new wife, Spiderman Costumes, superbitch Janine Butcher in 2004.
But dad-of-two Shaun, who, lives in Kent, said: “Being killed in a glen hasn’t put me off coming back up north.”
After his stint in Saturday Night Fever, next up for Shaun is a run in the second series of the hilarious Ricky Gervais telly show Extras. He said: “I loved being in it last time because Ricky is such a genius and I was chuffed when he asked me again.
“What I’d really love to do though is have a go at a serious dramatic role on television. But I don’t suppose my stage outfits get me taken any more seriously.”
Saturday Night Fever is on at the King’s Theatre, Glasgow, from Monday until Saturday.

Catsuit News in brief

EJECTED Andrew Castle apologized to the men of Britain for getting sexy partner Ola Jordan kicked out of Strictly Come Dancing.
The GMTV presenter – who got booted off last night’s BBC One show – told The Sun he felt guilty for ending the stunning 26-year-old’s weekly stint on telly. But in a glimmer of hope for male viewers, he did say the Polish sexpot may give her plunging lycra catsuits another airing.
The pair became the seventh celebrity couple to go because of his lackluster performance of the samba. Judge Len Goodman said: “Instead of Andrew Castle you’ve got to be more like a bouncy castle.” And
the other judges also berated the former tennis star’s performance which cost the pair the dance-off to singer Heather Small and Brian Fortuna. Bruno Tonioli said: “The samba should have the excitement of the Brazilian Grand Prix and this was a Brazilian grand flop: no bounce, poor hip action, heavy footed.”
But Andrew praised his sexy dance partner, green zentai suit, saying: “Every man and teenage boy must love her. She’s such a fantasy figure; she’s beautiful and she bends double.”
Ola caught the attention by appearing in a sparkly black yellow lycra suit with a split down the front in the pair’s first dance, the cha-cha-cha.
Andrew, costume Spiderman, 44, said: “I’m sorry that Ola will no longer be on the show but I think the catsuit might be returning.
“She will be coming back for the professional group dances and I have a feeling that the return of the catsuit is imminent.”
But the happily-married TV host, who said he and wife Sophia would love to take up dancing, said he barely noticed what the blonde bombshell was wearing during the dance because he was so nervous. Andrew said: “I think I was the only man in Britain who didn’t.”
Andrew will also be returning to strictly next week as he wants to see Beyonce in a guest spot on the Sunday results show. He said the Destiny’s Child singer charmed him when he interviewed her on the GMTV sofa.
