Zentai on TVThis thread is along similar lines as the “Music Videos With Zentai” thread, except its purpose is to act as a one-stop-shop to find TV shows featuring spandex costumes.15 years ago, nobody except for Japanese people and a few fans knew what a zentai even was, and you never saw people wearing them for fun outside.IMO one of the greatest influences in bringing zentai into the public view, and making them acceptable for public wear has been popular media like TV shows. The Green Man character from its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for example, has spawned a craze for wearing green zentai suit at Halloween, at sports events, and festivals. I thought it would be good to start a thread for people to post up links to TV shows (just TV shows please, we already have a music video thread, and I’ll start another thread for movies). This is because I forget ‘em, and find myself thinking questions like: “What was the name of that show?” and I just can’t track ‘em down to watch them again. If we have list here all in 1 place, then it’ll be a great place to find those videos you just can’t quite place, and well as browse for new ones. Remember- just TV shows in this thread.
Are we going to see Green Man next season?
Oh, that’s a good question. We’re going to be seeing a lot of Green Man in the future.
We actually just had to buy the rights … the character of Green Man, which is surreal, is a real person. It’s a buddy of mine that I went to high school with — who is a doctor. And he is in his first year of residency. He is a full on, doctor!!! And we went to an Eagles game. And at the end of the game, they beat the out of the Cowboys, it was a Monday night game, two years ago, and at the end of the game, afterwards we go back to the parking lot to continue the festivities, and he starts taking off his clothes and getting into this green lycra suit and walking around and taking pictures with everybody, calling himself the Green Man. I instantly wrote … I wrote it down on a piece of paper and when I flew back to LA, we put it in show and it’s become a little bit of a cultural phenomenon. I mean I can’t watch a sporting event now without seeing some idiot <smiles at student> in a green suit. … I’m just kidding. I appreciate it, I really do.

Zentai in winter timeWinter is here for me in my area and it got me to think about wearing lycra body suits to stay warm at night. How many others here wear zentai to stay warm in the wintertime and how often? What are your favorite suits to wear? For myself, I’ll probably be wearing my black zentai suit with ears and tail most often as that seems to be a little more heavyweight and will keep me warm the most.
Well inside I wear my suits just as much when it is winter or summer. It would seem a little cheaper to keep the heating bills down at night if we wore suits to bed. But unless we can get 2 very small suits for trish’s chit-lins, then we have to keep the heater up lol…hmm that would be kinda neat though, seeing 2 grown people and then 2 little kids out in public in suits, say at the Zoo or something, and for the side note, I still go outside in my suits during the winter time. I don’t stay out nowhere near as long though. I either double suit it, or I’ll but on a body stocking that doesn’t have gloves under the yellow lycra suit so it’s not as “thick” feeling. We are waiting till it snows so that way we can take a video out in the snow…maybe have a snowball fight or build a snow man or something in our suits.
Zentai usage has gone way up for me as the weather has cooled down. However, it’s too cold to just wear zentai unless I wear multiple at once, and I can only really cope comfortably with two for a long period of time, so I just wear one with pjyamas over the top or just snuggle tightly in between the covers. It flattens hairs against the skin, getting rid of much of the usual insulating air-gap. It also tends to spread out any sweat and let it evaporate quicker, so the cooling effect of perspiration works quicker. I generally find it has a cooling effect in either summer or winter. (Well, unless it’s a black zentai in the sun, in which case it also absorbs sunlight!) On the other hand, just a couple of layers of spandex has been enough to keep me from shivering when outside while snow was on the ground, so I’m not sure how that happened!

Zentai warm partsWhat it is compression? The lycra suits are like compression stockings, but basically for your whole body. What is happening is when the suits are really tight they compress your veins down and limit the blood flow. They do not limit it in a dangerous way but it does limit it. Compression stockings do the same to limit blood flow in your legs so as not obtain varicose veins, which are painful. The veins in the arms are close to the surface versus say on your torso or upper body. Also what can happen is when you wear the pink zentai suit and if you keep your arms bent at the elbow for short periods of time, the suit i have noticed, will get tighter around the elbow area, which can pinch nerves and close some veins which will result in your hands getting cold. And if you leave it that way for longer periods of time, you’ll find that your hand will start to get numb and go to sleep. Mine does this sometimes. If the results get really bad to wear they get cold but do not go numb then I would ask your doctor about it because that could be an early sign of poor circulation.
Well your hand, even without circulation, will sweat when it gets hot because your skin is what is getting hot and sweating from the heat of the outside temperature, not likely from the purple lycra bodysuit. you sweat from your poor cause it is your body’s way of making it cool off…you could still be receiving poor circulation from the suit in warm weather and not realize it.
A way to test for poor circulation is to raise your arm above your heart level and hold it there for close to 5 minutes…if your hand gets cold then it could be a poor circulation problem…then I would recommend you see a doctor about it because it could become worse. If nothing happens after 5 minutes and it is still normal and warm, then i believe it would be the suit putting compression on your arms.

This could turn out to be uncomfortableIt was projected to arrive here two days ago; not a huge deal, it being a couple days late, and under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t think twice; however in the two weeks since I ordered my zentai lycra suits it has been decided that my ENTIRE FAMILY is coming here for Thanksgiving. They’re here, right now, asleep on my furniture. Now even though I don’t wear Zentai, tights, unitards and dive skins for any sexual reasons, My family still doesn’t know that I wear them at all, and I don’t want to tell them; It’s nothing of which to be ashamed, it’s just a personal choice for me.
Anyway, my siblings have an annoying penchant for opening other people’s packages, and I suspect the suit will arrive any day now, and I’ve been sweating bullets. What am I supposed to say? “Don’t open the package” That would only stir their curiosity!
The one thing I think you should keep in mind, regardless of how the situation plays out, is that the only unusual thing you’re doing is not wearing your blue lycra suit and noise-cancellers. Granted, wandering through your home wearing noise-cancelling headphones while it’s littered with family members might seem anti-social, but both items are widely practiced and actively researched treatments for your medical condition. The zentai you ordered is you experimenting with this technique to find what works best for you. I think the correct attitude (should you find yourself explaining this to people, in spite of your wishes to avoid doing so), especially in your own home, is “it’s for my ASD; don’t you people read?”
Now, You may not be here for the same fundamental reason as more than a handful of others, but the phrase many of us use, For those of us who use it, that phrase means we don’t want anyone else to live with the same shame of being attracted to red zentai suit, spandex, latex, neoprene, or “things that are intended for women” that we all (well, at least the men, anyway) felt before we found the first like-minded person or website like this one. No one here is likely to assume that “that man wears tights” has any relation to “that man’s sexual orientation” — but we’re all too aware that the larger world doesn’t always see things the same way. If anything, the people here probably have a disproportionately high interest in your experience, compared with a random set of people with no one in their life with an ASD/PDD diagnosis.
So, that having been said, my last comment is…I know my “correct attitude” statement above is far easier said than done. Oh, that and, depending on the carrier, and whether you have a tracking number or not, it may be possible to place some kind of delivery hold on the package so it’s held for you at their nearest pick-up point — check their website.
